• Posts your genealogy surname queries to the local libraries or courthouses.

• Lists your queries in the newsletter and posts them on the Tri County website.

• Has on hand, well over 350 databases that were created from our own preservation work.

• Has an indexed database for well over 50,000 local burials.

• Has an indexed database of many thousands of local marriages.

• Has personal knowledge to the exact whereabouts of many local in-active cemeteries.

• Has an all volunteer staff and no one is paid.

• Has currently, nearly 22 years of researching experience, in the “founder” by himself.

• Has added 24 new items to the catalog in the year, 2006.

• Publishes an easy to follow and easy to order from web site showing in detail every thing on hand that is available for researching.

• Will e-mail you results from your queries and research questions as soon as the answers are found. (Members only or from others who have made pre-arranged donations!)

• Has created nearly 400 digitally preserved projects for its members, IN LESS THAN 7 YEARS.  Compare this with the projects created by other historical and genealogical societies that were started back in the 1980’s. And WE are still producing!

Compare this page with any other Society you are a member of. 

You know this one is one of the better genealogical & historical preservation societies to belong to. Don’t let it fail. If it fails, it won’t be because the volunteers of the Tri County News didn’t try their best.

Do this, please.  Go to the other societies and look at their publications. Check out the dates on them and who actually did the work for that society. Ask them to see their latest publication. Then ask what publication is due out this year. Ask them for a list of their latest products!

Ask them if their membership runs from date of joining or from 1 Jan to 31 Dec. Then ask them if you join in July, do you pay 1/2 a year or a full year membership with it expiring in Dec.

Ask them what exactly is included in their membership. What do you get besides a newsletter?
